Lizzy's Second Birthday

Lizzy's birthday was on April 17th. We went to the zoo and she had a great time at the dolphin show and looking for animals at all the enclosures. We opened some family gifts that day and she got roller blades, a truck and cars from Mommy and Daddy. Later in the week, she got a soccer goal from Grandma and Grandpa.

Her party was planned for a park near the house, but it rained more than it has all year, so we relocated to Chuck E. Cheese. The kids had a great time while the parents were exhausted from running after them for 2 hours. Contrary to last year, Lizzy ate 2 cupcakes, mostly just the icing, and reached for a third when Daddy stopped her! Lizzy got some great presents from her friends and had so much fun that she slept over 12 hours and I had to wake her in the morning!!

Katherine rolls over

At 11 days old, Katherine rolled over from tummy to back. Lizzy did this at 31 days (but Katherine has a head in the 6th percentile). The sister rivalry begins! We'll try to catch it on video.

Katherine's first week has been relatively smooth. Grandma loves holding her new granddaughter and reading books with Lizzy. Katherine got a little jaundiced and ended up on a bili light for a few days. Looking much better now-no more yellow eyes and tanned face! She has also been a pretty good sleeper. She has been sleeping in the packnplay and bassinet, and of course in our arms and the Moby.

Lizzy hunts for eggs

Lizzy followed a trail of eggs from her bedroom to the back door where the Easter Bunny left her basket. She loved sticking the Easter decals on the back door and hunting for eggs in the backyard. She went to a hunt the week before at the local YMCA. Hunting for eggs in the pool is pretty fun-they float and the volunteers replace them as they disappear!

Katherine Susan

We welcome Katherine Susan to our family. She was born on 4/6/10 at 1:08 am. She weighed 7 lbs, 11 oz and was 21 inches long. Mommy, Daddy and Lizzy are getting used to another girl in the house. More to follow!
