First birthday party

Elizabeth went to her first birthday party this month. Her friend, Lukas, turned one, and there were lots of kids there to celebrate. Lizzy had a great time playing in the playroom and monopolizing one of the train toys. She also got to wear one of her party dresses that we bought in England on behalf of British Airways.

I have figured out that I can easily post pictures from my phone, but not the camera. I guess I need to change the settings to take smaller pixel shots on the camera. Anyway, the week before we went to Colorado, we had a big snowstorm in Indiana. Elizabeth watched me finish shovelling the drive after she woke from her nap. It took me an hour and a half, but it was a good workout!

Pulling up

Elizabeth pulled to stand this weekend for the first time on her own. We also put in a bunch of those soft interlocking pieces on the tile floor in the kitchen to keep her safe and warm during her explorations.

Elizabeth and I went to Colorado to visit friends at the beginning of February. It was good fun and Elizabeth acquired a bunch of new clothes from Ellie and Louanne. Yea!! She also got to see Fred, the Doberman, and ride Lucy, the Great Dane. Lizzy loves dogs very much and even developed a new sound to communicate with them. The sound is geared towards the high-pitched tones that only dogs can hear! Of course, she slept both ways on the plane again and was happy to be carried by Mommy on a 3 mile hike. We visited the New Belgium Brewery and bought a couple bottles of Roundhouse Gin, which is distilled by a friend from high school. The weather was excellent, in the 60's nearly everyday. Last week, it was in the 60's in Indianapolis, so we are hoping for good weather when we head to Phoenix next weekend. Chasing the sun this winter!
