Visit to see Santa

Lizzy wasn't sure about sitting on Santa's lap, but she did give him several high five's and ten's, so maybe the next Santa...

Visit to Arizona pumpkin patch

Selecting a pumpkin in 100 degree weather!

See the Drew and Allen Daily News for more photos because we didn't take many!

Daddy and Lizzy head to the door to trick-or-treat. The Lil' Stinker checks out the pumpkins by our front door.

"Carving" the pumpkin with Mommy.
Steppin' out as a skunk! People loved her costume and said she was absolutely adorable.

Elizabeth was a huge hit as the skunk (worn by Allen last year) at her school costume parade and trick-or-treating around the neighborhood. We ended up with quite a supply of candy, which of course will be thrown out (straight into my belly!).

October fun in Indiana

Lizzy went to the Connor Prairie Country Fair and tried out some tractors and the pumpkin patch. We have been to two orchards where you can pick your own apples for $.75/lb.! I made apple crisp this weekend with the apples that Lizzy picked at Tuttle's Orchard. She picked out a small pumpkin at her school's festival on Saturday, but we will probably go to another orchard to get our carving pumpkin. The joys of living in the Midwest! We might even cut our own Christmas tree this year!Lizzy and Milena check out the crates of apples.
Finding a good one!

Auntie Rosie Visit

Taking a picture of ourselves in the big bean (the silver kidney in the Park).

Auntie Rosie came to Chicago and Indy during her trip to America for work. It was great to have her visiting, if only for a few days. Lizzy was so happy to see her every morning and had fun playing with her. Unfortunately, we didn't take very many photos...

Lactation Station

Lizzy and I volunteered at the Indiana Mothers' Milk Bank Lactation Station at the Indiana State Fair for 5 days in August this year. Here is Lizzy at the Riley Kids' Fun Park where she gathered seeds and fruit in her basket and took them to market to get a dollar and buy a snack.

Back from Colorado...Again!

Photos from August trip to Colorado for Mommy and Daddy's 5 year anniversary. Lizzy got to spend a lot of time with Grandma and Grandpa while Mommy and Daddy played outside. Thank you!

Summer trips to Colorado

We all had fun this summer visiting Colorado in June and August. We did some hiking, mountain biking, visiting friends and family. Here are some highlights from June:

Lizzy goes to the zoo and the Capitol

Lizzy meets Great relatives

Last weekend, we flew into Baltimore to visit Lizzy's great aunts and uncles and great-grandma. What a busy weekend! We went to the harbor on Friday and walked from the harbor to Fort McHenry, where apparently the Americans sent the British packing. Aunt Mary and Jim had several discussions about the true course of events in history... After walking several miles, we tried to catch a water taxi back, but didn't know what we were doing. We eventually called for a regular taxi and got a ride back into town (which was really only 2 miles!) and we were back to the car just as it started to rain.

The next day, we headed up to Harrisburg to meet up with the rest of the family for the 4th of July. Lizzy met great-grandma Ginny and great-aunt Peggy for the first time. She wore her party dress of course! Lizzy learned to knit with Mommy and got a gorgeous new sweater.
She met her second cousin Tony, who carefully watched over her until she awoke from her nap.

Then we went to great uncle Jim and great aunt Paula's house. She met her great uncle John and Paula's parents there too. She was especially fond of the german short-haired pointer, who taught Lizzy some new swimming skills!

Lizzy Goes for a Touchdown

Relay For Life

Last weekend, we were busy at the local high school track, running and raising money for the American Cancer Society.  Rolls-Royce and TriNasti teamed up and raised over $1000 and ran over 150 miles in 24 hours!  Jim was the Team Captain and spent several months organizing everything and I spent a few weeks complaining in preparation for running!  In the end, I ran 1 hour and walked two.  Jim ran 3 and walked one and spent the entire night at the track while Lizzy and I slept in the bed.  Lizzy had a lot of fun playing outside all weekend, but ended up with bags under her eyes-probably a grass or weed allergy!  My poor little fair-skinned child!

Weekend fun

Lizzy loves bubbles!

Christmas in May?

I just was looking back over the past 5 months at the photos I have not been able to post and I found some cute ones from her first Christmas opening presents. Had to share them.

Lizzy Walks!

Practicing!
The night before her first day at daycare and the very night that Granny and Grandad left, Elizabeth walked 6 steps for the first time. Daddy was sitting in the glider and Elizabeth pulled up while holding a book. Then she crossed the room, holding the book open with both hands, and brought the book to me. We were so excited that we were both there to witness her first steps at 13 months.
